The Shared Waste Solutions (SWS) project was promoted by ITeCons in collaboration with TecMinho and the University of Aveiro. This project is dedicated to creating a Platform for Promoting and Disseminating the Valorisation of Waste and By-products. The SWS was a multisector collaboration project under the Incentive for Collective Actions System (SIAC), call no. 02/SIAC/2012, within the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development. It complements the Sustainable Habitat Cluster Project, in particular by handling environmental sustainability and, in particular, the valorisation (transformation to valuable materials or energy) of waste. The SWS is also promoted by the Association for the Competitiveness of the Forestry Industry under the Collective Efficiency Strategies (EEC) of the Competitiveness and Technology of Forest-Based Industries Hub.
